Restored 47-year-old Lamborghini Miura SV is a right stunner
The Polo Storico, Lamborghini's restoration division has been hard at work to bring us this, the Miura SV - a 47-year-old Lambo with a special finish and one famous owner, at that. For those who didn't get to the Retromobile show in Paris this weekend just gone, this is for you - so what is so special about this bull?
Built in 1972, this Miura quickly left Europe for its life in South Africa, the car has had a slightly rough past, the signs of high-end wear and tear were very clear to the Polo Storico team, so they got to work - showing it some much-needed love, the only way Lamborghini can.
The Miura had to be completely dismantled for the work to start, to make sure that the SV model would be restored to a fully authentic Lamborghini style. This was made harder due to the fact it was a special SV, it was finished in the Rossa Corsa - the classic colours for Italian racing - in a gloss red and gold accents, it's rather something special indeed.
With restoring and repairing parts of the Miura, rather than replacing them, they have created a piece of automotive art with this car, proving that you don't have to replace the whole car to keep the soul - you just have to show it some love. Oh, and that special owner? Of course, it was someone who is massively invested into the motoring world - its owned by Jean Todt, the President of the FIA - the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, worldwide Motorsports organisation and governing body.
So clearly, it's in good hands.
