Ricciardo, Hamilton join in for donations towards Australian bushfire
F1 drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Lewis Hamilton have joined in to gather support for donations for the people affected by the Australian bushfire.
Ricciardo, who hails from Perth himself, called in for support for the growing bushfire crisis in Australia, which has affected many lives - whether humans and or animals. The Renault driver posted on his Instagram to push everyone to donate for the affected.
Additionally, Ricciardo has already donated to Australian Red Cross and WIRES, while he has also revealed that the race suit he is to wear during the 2020 Australian GP in March, he will sign it and raffle it, the proceeds from which will go to the two charities above.
Ricciardo thereby joins other Australian sportspersons to pledge support and also donate for the devastating fire which has wrecked the whole country. "Australia is suffering with some severe devastating bushfires," he said in the video.
"Anyone who is kind enough to donate, please do. There's the Australian Red Cross and there's WIRES wildlife rescue, I'm sure there's a bunch more but these are two I've donated to, so please - if you can. I'll get some details further over the next few days.
"But my race suit I'll race with at this year's Australian Grand Prix - I'll sign that and we'll raffle that and all proceeds will go to those two charities as well." From the F1 side, Mercedes' Hamilton also voiced his support through his social media account.
The Brit has asked his supporters to donate to various charities as well. Hamilton posted various links on his Instagram Stories. He mentioned both Red Cross and WIRES along with Salvation Army and New South Wales Rural Fire Service.
With fire raging on for some time, Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen had also made a donation towards Red Cross and Koala Foundation, back in November. Even Renault’s Esteban Ocon joined in Ricciardo and Hamilton in support for donations.
