Richard Hammond has been in a serious car crash according to multiple news organisations. The Sun, Mirror and Daily Mail are following a Swiss newspaper in reporting an accident. The UK's Metro is now reporting he has a fractured knee.

Jeremy Clarkson has just tweeted to say that despite the enormous crash Richard appears to be OK.

The Mirror reports "a fiery car crash in a Swiss mountain race" and says Richard suffered serious injuries "when the car crashed on a road that was closed for the Bergrennen Hemberg race" as part of filming the Grand Tour. The story is based on a report by 20 Minuten, which says he was driving a white Rimac Concept One, a two-seat high-performance electric sports car.

The Mirror adds: "Photos showed an unrecognisable car in flames alongside a road in the canton of St. Gallen before the blaze was extinguished by firefighters." A local police spokersperson is reported to have said that the injured driver was flown to hospital by helicopter.

The Sun reports that: 'The crash was really bad. The car completely flipped and then burst into flames. There was real concern for Richard but the emergency services were quickly on hand and he's a very lucky boy. It brought back horrendous memories of the 2006 crash for those who witnessed it.'

We have no extra information but our best wishes are with Richard.
