Richard Mille and Scuderia Ferrari join forces

Well, I have a question to ask...

Richard Mille has just announced a new partnership with Ferrari. The Swiss watch maker revealed that this multi-year collaboration will extend "from the pinnacle of motor racing in Formula 1 through WEC endurance programs, Competizioni GT, Ferrari Challenge, Ferrari Driver Academy to the fast-developing Esports category".

This means we're likely to see RM watches on the wrist of the drivers and some of the key figures in the team including Team Principal Mattia Binotto. It also means that 'Richard Mille' lettering and/or logos will be applied on the liveries of the cars.

Ferrari joins the long list of racing teams (and drivers) with long-standing partnerships with Richard Mille, including McLaren F1 and Haas F1.

I only have one question, because the elephant has just entered the room and we need to address it, I take it RM will replace Hublot...?

  • It would be nice to have proper watch brand sponsors like AP, Patek or Rolex instead of “ fashion statements “

  • Both brands are much far from being my cup of tea.

    • Same...but you can buy a G-Shock for a fraction of their price if you like that aesthetic.

  • I’m of the opinion that the event’s official timing partner should also be the watch partner for all teams. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
