You may have read my previous article from a couple of days ago, about the recent Pride Of Britain Awards, which were held last week here in the UK.
It was televised on Tuesday evening this week. As always, it was so heartwarming and humbling to watch so many unsung heroes of our country, being awarded this prestigious award for their courageous, heroic and quite often life saving acts at times.
Not a dry eye in our flat I can tell you.
Well, I manged to take a few screenshots of another hero. Richard of course!
The following mini photo gallery, shows Richard along with TV presenter Amanda Holden presenting an award to the Highgate Fire division of the West Midlands Fire Service, whom along with The Technical Rescue Unit based at Bickenhill & Wednesbury, were all responsible for rescuing a man by the name of Phil Ewins.
Phil was driving down to Birmingham to propose to his girlfriend, when he was involved in a road traffic collision.
Happily, as you can see from the photos, Phil went on to make a full recovery and managed to propose to his wife. Even invited his rescuers along to it too.
