The Yamaha XT500 is famous for being the bike that won the first two editions of the Dakar Rally and inspired by the competition versions, the Californian tuner Ride Custom has created its own vehicle variant.
From a model produced in 1978 all the plastic superstructures have been replaced with aluminum components and the original saddle has been changed with a handcrafted leather version.
The engine has been completely overhauled and updated with a new exhaust system and a new Mikuni VM36 carburetor while the standard tires have been changed to Dunlop D606 knobs.
Finally the fenders have been shortened and a new lighting system has been fitted which includes a handcrafted headlight and a rear light derived from a Kawasaki Z500.
The modification intervention is very minimalist, but this is what I think makes the final result very pleasant. And what do you think?
