Rivian has revealed its electric pickup truck before LA Motor Show
Say hello to the Rivian R1T which might rival Tesla
Rivian has revealed the R1T five seater electric pickup truck before the Los Angeles Motor Show and shall soon be unveiling the seven seater R1S SUV. It will have four electric motors for each wheel this giving it four wheel drive.
The R1T will have a 400-mile range with a expected price tag of $61 500 which isn't that bad. You can expect it to go on sale in 2020 with only the R1S going on in 2021.
This US-based company also claims that the R1T will have 745 bhp with a 0-62 mph (0100 km/h) just taking 3 seconds while 0-100 mph (160 km/h) shall take less than 7 seconds making this pickup truck step into supercar territory.
Don't think this isn't safe because it has got a five star safety crash rating in the US and after a year of its release in the US it will be available in the UK with right-hand drive. The two screens that it has in the cabins is Ravian's own software technology and graphics.
Even if it has only a top speed of 125 mph you can expect it to shift quite quickly on the dirt thanks to its four-wheel drive system. Although it shall have some tough rivals such as Mitsubishi and even Tesla who says they will be making a pickup truck soon as well.
This could be the future of luxury off-roading or something else could come along but for now we can drool at the Rivian R1T electric pickup truck.
