Robert Kubica flat out in a rally car is mesmerising to watch

I was a huge fan of Robert Kubica in his Formula 1 career, and I'm not alone in thinking he had all the potential to become world champion one day.

He was already a race winner and given the right car, he would have been competing at the very top.

However, after a rally crash, he had severe injuries to his forearm and said that a return to Formula 1 was nearly impossible.

This hasn't stopped him competing and having a bloody good time though. He won the WRC-2 title and has driven a Fiesta WRC in the full championship in 2014 and 2015.

His technique in rally driving is less Scandinavian flick and more 'if in doubt, flat out.'

I just can't stop watching this clip. He flows and bounces between corners with what seems like no effort.

He's closer to a slalom skier than a rally driver. See for yourself in the clip below.

  • I, too, thought Kubica had a great future in F1. As much as I like F1, I think WRC may be the best racing in the world. It's too bad that we don't get to see more of it here in the US.

  • Once I heard a "joke" after one f1 race. It was about Robert and another top f1 driver. Someone said that the other guy won thanks to his awesome technical crew and Robetr almost won... but regardless his technical crew ;)

  • I have never seen a car absorb bumps that smoothly.

  • That stage is brutal . . . almost expecting the car to flip over the bumps
