Rocket League is coming to Android and iOS later this year
You‘ll no longer need a console to play Rocket League
Rocket League Sideswipe is coming to mobile devices later this year so you’ll be able to play your favourite car soccer game wherever you are. After being released in 2015, and later making the switch to a free-to-play model in 2020, Rocket League has been a massive success for developer Psyonix with over 40 million players worldwide.
The switch to mobile will obviously see the introduction of touch screen controls which will be a first for the series. All games on Sideswipe will be 2 minutes long and you’ll be able to play 1v1 or 2v2 matches against friends online.
As you can see in the trailer there are multiple modes and arenas to choose from, including the more traditional soccer one and a basketball style hoops mode. There’ll also be ’robust car customization’ according to the press release.
The game is set to be released on Android and iOS later this year and there is a limited-time regional alpha test available now for Android users in Australia and New Zealand.
