Rolls-Royce recently launched the new Ghost, which looked more sporty and has a lot of new tech under the skin. However, it does not take long for Rolls-Royce to create an extended wheelbase, taking away from the dual character of the standard Ghost - can be driven by the owner and can be chauffered around.

The extended wheelbase is 170mm longer or nearly 7 inches longer. Those 7 inches is added to the rear legroom, making it the most space available after the Phantom. The reason to offer this is because of the demand of people, good to know Rolls-Royce listens to their customers.

The interior is where the major changes are. For the first time on offer is a reclining serenity seat, which is similar to a business jet interior cabin. Included in the interior is a champaign fridge between the rear seats. To engineer the fridge, there are two chilling temperatures - 6°C and 11°C which were determined after a consultation with a Master Sommelier.

The rest of the car is pretty much the same with the engine, magic ride II, technology and the V12 engine found in the new regular wheelbase Ghost. But, at the end of the day, it is really nice knowing Rolls-Royce is catering to the needs of their customers but, has taken away from the dual character of the Ghost. That same character made the Ghost its own car and not a baby Phantom.

  • The car looks fantastic however, those shot glasses got me baffled. Last time I checked that’s considered an open container, granted that’s like a $50 ticket but still. Shot glasses and mini bar are okay but not an ashtray? Hmm
