Yes, this is the end of the Ford Focus RS in South Africa! The Oval brand's website now longer lists the Ford Focus RS.
Carmag claims that this news comes after the brand ended Ford Focus RS-badged production in Germany back in April.
The source goes on to say that Ford dealers had sold all available stock of the RS. However, the Focus ST is still going strong in South Africa.
Ford is in the process of developing new versions of both the RS, this includes the ST brand. However, we have not yet seen neither of these new versions. In July of 2018 the Ford Motor Company confirmed the new Fiesta ST is not destined for local shores.
The last time the Ford Focus RS appeared on Ford SA’s official price catalogue was in October of 2018. At this point in time it was at R712 900.
As a reminder, the Focus RS has a turbocharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. This produces 257 kW (345 bhp) and 440 N.m. It sends the power to all four corners via a six-speed manual transmission. A zero to 100 km/h time of 4,7 seconds and a top speed of 266 km/h is a handful from this hot hatch, but a lot of fun.
