Say hello to the A6 e-tron Concept, Audi's future electric sedan!
Will it be a Tesla Model S beater?
At the 2021 Shanghai Motor Show, Audi will present a prototype of an electric sedan underneath the e-tron GT, which is currently the top of the range. A few days before the Asian event, a leak composed of a bunch of official photos reveals the entire exterior of the vehicle.
Named the A6 e-tron, the concept foreshadows a future series production model that will be nothing less than the electric version of the A6 sedan. While the e-tron GT was very sporty, the A6 e-tron is much more consensual, which does not prevent it from adopting a particularly expressive style.
The front end features the Singleframe grille with fake openings that give it a touch of relief. The side air intakes are visually enlarged by a black lacquered piece on each side of the bumper. The headlights have also been refined and could be carried over to the production model.
The profile also features huge wheels and handle-less doors. The camera mirrors, which are already familiar from the e-tron SUV, are also likely to be retained in the series production version. The receding roofline with a hatchback is reminiscent of the A5 and A7.
The rear of the car has a light strip with a diamond pattern, while the lower part of the bumper has a large diffuser. The car's interior and technical specifications have not yet been revealed. We will have to wait until April 19 to get more information.
