Polaris lifts the veil on the second generation of its Slingshot. The changes are visual and mechanical. Under the hood is a new naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine developed in-house by the brand. Rumor has it that this engine is being assembled in Germany with Mercedes parts.
On the entry-level SL versions, this engine develops 180 hp and 162 Nm of torque. On the higher R versions, the engine delivers 203 hp and 195 Nm of torque. This is more than enough power to be able to enjoy such a light vehicle. Its mass has not yet been communicated.
As for the transmission, the new Slingshot comes with a manual gearbox as standard. But what's new is the arrival of an optional automatic transmission. In terms of equipment, the new Slingshot is much better equipped than the model it replaces. Comfort and equipment are greatly improved.
The cockpit features new, more comfortable and more enveloping seats. The steering wheel has been redesigned. A new infotainment system with a 7-inch touch-screen is now available! This makes it possible to benefit from a rearview camera. As for the exterior, the most important changes concern the thinner LED headlights and modified body parts.
