Say "Oh Cock" To The Brand-New Dacia Family

Today, Dacia presents completely new generations of the Sandero and Logan - plus the slightly more robust variant, called the Stepway.

Soon, Dacia, which is part of the alliance where Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi are dominant, has renewed its entire model range. Two years ago, the new Duster was presented, but now, finally, James May's favourite reasonably-priced car - along with an old friend!

Now the turn has come for the more traditional passenger cars Sandero and Logan, two models that in their current form have been around since 2012. As for Sandero, a new version of the slightly elevated and protective molded model Sandero Stepway is also presented.

Dacia has been able to take part in Renault's and Nissan's brand new and flexible platform CMF, which in this version is called CMF-B, where the letter B symbolizes the size class (the B-segment). The CMF-B platform made its debut with both the new Renault Clio and Captur last year.

Dacia has not revealed any specifications just yet - that's something September 29 shall be worth waiting for, when all information is released. Much of the technology we see today at Renault Clio we can expect to see also in the new Sandero, Sandero Stepway and Logan. To keep prices down at low levels, which is part of Dacia, we can count on some things being ironed out, such as the most advanced driver-assisted systems. Which, exactly? Doesn't matter.

What does matter, though, is this:

It's cheap. Really cheap. Unfathomably cheap.

*Happy James May noises*

  • I prefer the outgoing models, but they do look little out of date next to the new Renaults and Dusters
