What's better than one Porsche scale model? Two, of course! Here are some scale model pics of the Porsche 911 and the Porsche 917 LH 'Langheck' (Long Tail) racer, made by Hot Wheels. The 917 LH is one of the most successful racer of the 70s, if you know your Le Mans history surrounding it. Born to take the top spot in endurance racing, particularly the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Porsche 917 went on to become a legend in endurance racing circuits. The 917 LH is famous for achieving speeds close to 400kmph back in those days, its 800kg weight playing a huge part here. Combine it with the lightweight 4.5-litre 12 cylinder engine that developed 572bhp(!) at 8500rpm and you have an explosive performance, which is enough to induce some fear in its rivals. So, it's safe to say that the Porsche 917 belongs to an era when 'sex was safe and racing was dangerous', to borrow the quote. As for other car in these pictures, what's cooler than a 911 in police livery? Enjoy the pics!
