In a world with the Urus, DBX, and Bentayga's, it's a relief to know at least one person remembers what it really means to build a Sport Utility Vehicle. Jim Glickenhaus, the world's coolest car guy, and his team are conducting final tests on their Boot before competing in the Baja 1000. In a little over a week, Glickenhaus and his team will be competing in the race's Class 2 against none other than Ford's new and highly anticipated Bronco.

If it can’t drive to Ensenada and race the Baja 1000, it’s not an SUV.

In its final form, the LT4 powered Boot will wear 37" BFGoodrich tires and a suspension that can travel 22 inches. SCG has taken the wild SUV as fast as 102mph offroad and have completed over 700 miles of testing in California. The entire team has been very proud of this project and have been sharing its progress with the world, laid out for all to see. I think that's what I love most about the Boot. Glickenhaus picked a challenge, set out to accomplish their goal, and now they're getting it done. Boots for the road will be here before we know it.
