Secondary school students in Madrid convert petrol powered Seat 600 to electric

1w ago

12 students from the San Patricio secondary school in Madrid have converted this petrol powered Seat 600 into an electric car.

The students' Industrial Technology teacher Manuel Amor gave them the challenge of converting the car to electric. The 600 was chosen as it is small, light-weight and needs less battery power, according to Amor.

The students had to make all the parts that couple to the engine from scratch to be able to build the new electric engine.

The interior of the vehicle also features a touch screen and automatic light control.

The Seat 600 first went on sale in 1957. Production ceased in 1973.

    • It's the Seat 600 that is a Fiat 600. Fiat and Seat did cars together in those years, the last one is the 80's Fiat Panda.
