Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that The Grand Tour Game is on its way – and if you want to know more about it then you’re in absolutely the right place, because over the coming months DriveTribe has exclusive access to some fantastic teasers. A mix of videos, screenshots and details about the game will be winging their way to your eyeballs right here.
And, without further ado, to our first update.
This week we’re taking a look at the way the show that we all know and love integrates with the game.
The whole idea of The Grand Tour Game is that one second you’re watching the show, the next you’re in it, driving the cars that the three amigos have put to the test. The switch between the in-show footage and gameplay happens seamlessly.
There’s no awkward loading screen between the two, and often the camera swings around or zooms in on the car so swiftly you don’t actually spot the switch between show and game – making it feel just like you’re part of the show.
Check out the video below to see how quickly it switches – so fast that even James May couldn’t keep up.
And don’t worry if you know the show off by heart and want to skip to the game. During the film segments from the show you can either hit the Jeremy button to speed things along (obviously) or the James button to rewind.
That’s not all we have to share – we’ve been sent two lovely screenshots to share with you. A very sharp-looking BMW M2 and the flaming exhausts of a Porsche 918 Spyder… which you can also see in the seamless transitions video below.
For bonus points, can you tell which race track is featured in the 918 screenshot? Drop the answer in the comments and you could win some free internet kudos!
