Seikel Motorsport NSX : the Japanise of ADAC GT

The first edition of ADAC GT Cup had a notable guest coming from Japan

Since 1986, the Seikel Motorsport team has always been keen in participating to all possible german motorsport's events.

Basically every racing with gran turismo cars were a must for the japanise team and it was with this mindset that the team chose to participate at the first new edition of ADAC GT Cup in 1993.

Thanks to the collaboration of the german Honda section, it was decided to have at the start of the racing a variant of the new NSX for competitions.

As first competition version built from this model, its design was left mostly untouched. The only change was mounting sporting alloy wheels BBS 18 inch long. It was obvious back then that the real changesets were not obviously linked to its design, but to its structure and engine.

First, the entire structure had been lighted up, so that the car could weight 1300 kg. Second, the car's interiors were updated with a new security Roll-bar to fix the auto-body and new sport Recaro seats doted with security belts. Another smart choice was to completely project a new dashboard that kept every magangement key of the car during the race close by for the drivers. Last but not least, the engine C30A V6 3.0 had been designed to distribute 325 HP, and its management was back then up to a new five-speed automatic transmission.

Driven by pilots such Armin Hahne and John Nielsen, this NSX managed to reach two-third places to the GP of Avus and Nurburgring, and later the final victory at Zolder GP.

By the end of the season Armin Hahnes even managed to score third in the general results, and got confirmed for the next year with the newest updated NSX variant.

Thanks to Valentina Zanola for the cooperation
