Retired American Basketball player Shaquille Rashaun O'Neal, nicknamed 'Shaq' has taken delivery of his new custom built supercar/spaceship. Labelled as the 'Vaydor', the custom-made supercar was hand-crafted by St Petersburg, Florida based company, 'Supercraft Custom Crafted Cars'.

Designed to accompany the 7'1", 158kg giant; The designer Matt Mcentegart, (also chief designer for the 'Vaydor' featured as the Jokers car in Suicide Squad) labelled Shaq's car as the biggest challenge yet. Due to Shaq's sheer size, the seating position had to be much further back to accommodate for his long arms and legs.

You may be interested to learn what exactly a 'Vaydor' is... under the shell it is based on a 2004-2007 Infiniti G35, the kit costs approximately $11,000. Once the Infiniti G35 is transformed, it kicks out 280 horsepower from its 3.5l V6 engine. The car is reported to cost around the $40,000 mark. Not too bad for what is effectively a spaceship on wheels I hear you say? Despite its relatively 'cheap' price, reports suggest only 20 will be built per year, so getting your paws on one may prove difficult. For now, we can just gawp...

  • I’ve seen their cars in person at the St. Pete Grand Prix and they are complete garbage.

    • Even in pictures you can see how cheap they look. The Joker one especially really accents that fact.

    • I agree with you, it is rather ugly!

  • Spaceship? What? Yeah it's striking, but it's just a heavier G35?

    • It's actually much lighter since you strip metal and put fiberglass/Kevlar instead.

    • Unlikely that those body panels (especially fiberglass) made it much lighter. After chopping the roof, adding the roll bars, etc. There is no way it's lighter.

  • You can clearly see the offset between the door and the car on the first picture without even zooming it. Crap.

    • Yeah, but it's also clearly closer at the front than the rear, leading me to think that it's just not fully latched closed...

  • I'd much prefer a real supercar, not a working movie prop. I don't live in a DC universe.
