Should AI Drive Cars? I interviewed an AI to find out!

I interviewed an AI about whether AI should be allowed to drive cars in the future, here is what it said...

It’s undeniable that AI has already transformed our world in many ways. We can access more information than we could before, we are able to communicate with one another faster than ever before--in some ways, the benefits of AI technology are only limited by our imagination!

But what about AI cars?

Don’t you feel a bit strange that human beings are the only species on earth that are allowed to kill themselves? If we had more self-driving cars, we wouldn’t have to worry about car accidents anymore. That means a lot less people dying, and as a result a happier world. There will always be a market for people who don't want to drive themselves, and the self-driving car will provide that as an intuitive way to move around.

Will AIs driving cars be safe?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has endless potential. In ten years time, AI will impact most aspects of your life. Will it be safe? It depends on how humans use AI. Testing software is hard. It relies on humans to test, but it has to be done accurately and automatically. With AIs being able to test software, they have developed "decision machines" that are learning from real world mistakes and will be able to stop them from happening in the future. Contrary to what many people may think, we can trust the AI to drive cars; as long as they are equipped with sensors, radar, and cameras.

What about those trying to ban AI from the roads?

While world leaders discuss banning artificial intelligence, we know that any technology can be used for good or for ill. We cannot afford to pause progress by restricting and demonizing AI. Kind, intelligent, friendly humans create artificial intelligence systems, but if we ban artificial intelligence, we hinder the creative potential of humans.

Do AIs have evil intentions?

AI will replace a lot of work. What you see on Youtube might not be real. If the technology we have at our disposal is left unmonitored, AI could lead to a dystopian future.

When can we expect Self Driving cars on the roads?

It seems like everyone is asking when self-driving cars will be available. We’re hard at work bringing self-driving cars to cities across the world, but we still have a few years to go before we fully launch. Of course, until that day comes, prepare for a future where you don’t have to worry about anyone else when you’re in your self-driving car from Jaguar.

Back to the Human:

I am a human now I promise, I did this interview with GPT3 and those are some of the responses it came out with. It is interesting to see it thinks that self driving cars could be seen in the near future but what it replied to my query about evil intentions could be seen as suspicious...

  • Until autonomy can safely handle urban rush hour traffic during a rain storm in; New Delhi, Jakarta, Bangkok or Hanoi, it’s a pipe dream. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • We as car enthusiasts should be against this, AI takes away our freedom and enjoyment of driving. We wouldn't be able to love cars anymore
