Should Jeremy Clarkson replace Piers Morgan as host of GMB
The Good Morning Britain host quit yesterday, who better to replace him than his rival, Jeremy Clarkson?
Whether you loved or hated Piers Morgan, everyone could agree on something: he was good at his job on Good Morning Britain. For those of you who don't know what Good Morning Britain is, it's a morning TV show where sometimes silly things, but mostly serious issues are discussed. I don't like Morgan all that much, however, he could hold politicians and other people to account where others wouldn't dare. As rumours of Morgan joining GB News have started to circulate, people may wonder who would take over his old job on Good Morning Britain. I present to you: Jeremy Clarkson.
Why on earth would Clarkson be a good host?
Jeremy has had years of hosting TV shows, he can be very divisive, yet also incredibly funny. He's good at holding people to account and is no stranger to TV, quality journalism, and hosting. He is arguably the most popular Brit, excluding Royals and politicians, and he's not shy to share his opinion. He did an interview with JOE (around the 2019 General Election), discussing politics, something which is frequently discussed on Good Morning Britain. He also discusses politics frequently when writing articles. So he's no stranger to the issues discussed on Good Morning Britain. In fact, Jeremy wrote a rather funny tweet when Morgan announced he was quitting (after OfCom recieving over 41,000 complaints in one show), which read: "People of America. You sent Piers Morgan back to the U.K. Now look what we’ve sent back to you. Ha. We win."
Why would ITV want him to host?
Jeremy already hosts "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" on ITV and is probably the broadcaster's best known host and celebrity, additionally, Good Morning Britain is one of the most popular breakfast TV shows out there. If Piers had stayed on, this would have overtaken the most popular TV morning show in the UK, which at the moment is BBC's "Breakfast". If Jeremy Clarkson was on board, the ratings would undoubtedly soar, and how good would it feel if Jeremy was the host at the time of the show overtaking his former employer (and ITV's main rival): the BBC.
Reasons Jeremy likely wouldn't host
Being a presenter on a morning show such as Good Morning Britain is hard, it involves getting up incredibly early in London, and it is a hard job. The hosts on Good Morning Britain do nothing, or relatively little hosting and presenting as well as their job. Jeremy has a farm in Chipping Norton, which is in Oxfordshire. It's close to London in the grand scheme of things, but is quite a distance to travel four days a week. Additionally, he hosts: "The Grand Tour", "Who Wants to be a Millionaire", and his new farming show, as well as doing additional specials here and there, like his Christmas show in 2020: "It's Clarkson on TV". That was an incredibly funny show and it was almost a revival of his relatively short-lived BBC talk show "Clarkson", which broadcast at the turn of the Millennium.
Overall Thoughts
Overall, I believe that Jeremy Clarkson would be a great host for Good Morning Britain. He can hold people to account, present well, and is incredibly opinionated, which are all good things for a TV host. However, an evening talkshow would be far better for us, as viewers, and him as a presenter. And fear not, you can still wake up to the sound of Jeremy Clarkson through setting the alarm clock sound on your Alexa to Clarkson, Hammond, and May!

Yes because it would be great. No because he would probably be in less of the car shows
Only if they let Jeremy punch him again but on tv this time
Piers Morgan should be replaced in everything.

They’d need to tidy him up quite a bit not to scare people on breakfast TV
