Should kvyat be in formula 1?

As the cars lined up on the grid in spielberg austria, he called it.

As the cars lined up for the race start in Spielberg, Austria I had 90% confidence The Redbull of Max Verstappen would make it to the second corner from grid, without an accident. Speaking to my dad earlier he talked about Hamilton having a chance of a DNF because of Kyvat. At the time I did have some trust in Kyvat's abilities but after this it really changed. The odds were not on my side and Max did not finish the race.

There is no doubt that Kyvat is a good driver. Race car drivers don't just Sunday drive into Formula 1. But for Daniil, is Formula 1 really for him? Last week in Silverstone he stunned but not surprised the spectators around Maggots and Becketts when he crashed his car into his own team mate on the first (technically second) lap. Racing is for him but maybe rallying instead? The now nicknamed 'Torpedo' is 3 fia demerit points away from a ban. What does his future hold for him in Formula 1.

Your thoughts?

  • Sorry to be Mr. negative but I think Kvyat's days are done. If he stays at Toro Rosso for next year expect more calamities from the Torpedo.

  • He reminds me so much of Romain Grosjean when he went through that period of crashing every week. Sitting out a race or two really sorted Grosjean's head and since then he's really calmed down. Maybe the same would work for Daniil (because I still think he is quick and a v good driver), but the trouble is, if Gasly gets in his car even once and does well, it would be very hard to put Daniil back in. Tricky.

  • Kvyat should drive more intelligent. He should learn when to attack and when not. Passing Sainz in the s-curves was a really bad idea.

  • Remember that year when Grosjean became a liability on the track? Kvyat is THAT bad right now. The worry is that Grosjean got better and the following year, entered the season as a different driver. Unfortunately Daniil has gone backwards. I hope, for everyone else's sake, that he fixes his dreadful form before someone gets hurt.
