Should the Lamborghini Urus get a track sibling?
I read an interesting article on a flight today. It was an interview of Lamborghini's Chief Technical Director, Maurizio Reggiani. I read a lot of interesting things about him and Lamborghini but, one a question posted to him got me wondering. The question was the possibility of a track sibling for the Super SUV?
The first sentence of the answer was "I think we will see!". I didn't bother reading the rest because it is all about strategy and some boring stuff. But, what the hell, a track sibling for a SUV.
I don't understand SUV's racing around a track. It feels ridiculous, even though there are SUVs that hold Nürburgring lap records, and they are impressive. If it were something like a Baja off-roader for 1000 mile off-road rally, I can understand that and it would be brilliant.
I bet it will cater to some idiot who wants a more hardcore version to take to a track meet, but, seriously, make a off-road rally sibling for it, it is the most logical one. That way we can see Lamborghini made the Urus not only for the road, but can go anywhere - without the off-road package, including a gruelling 1000 mile rally.
Honestly, I don't think it needs a sibling. It is a Super SUV, it is already the best it can be. The Urus is that - that is why it is so popular.
