Shwartzman goes; Sargeant arrives
As the 2021 F2 seasons comes to a close, the drivers line-up changes.
As we already know, Guanyu Zhou is set to join Alfa Romeo Racing Orlen team for next year's F1 season. A similarly big story has happened with Robert Shwartzman, who will leave F2 after 2 years and an impressive scoreboard.
Shwartzman has indicated that although his time in the F2 is over, he is still focused on getting a seat - that in my opinion Mazepin wrongfully took from him - saying that, "My target and my focus is always going to be towards Formula 1, so everything that is connected to F1 I will be looking towards that."
He is also set to participate in post-season testing, where he will drive both Ferrari's SF21 and Haas' VF-21.
Meanwhile, American member of Williams Driver Academy Logan Sargeant has joined the UK-based Carlin team to participate full-time in next year's F2 season, having driven for a single race for the HWA Racelab team this year.
There's 2 takeaways from this news: I am utterly guttered about Shwartzman leaving F2, but I hope we get to see him in F1 soon, and I cannot wait to see what Sargeant is going to show us on the track.
