For car enthusiasts Singer Vehicle Design needs no introduction, the California based company “reimagines” vintage 911s to create some of the most lust-worthy four-wheeled air-cooled designs the world has ever seen. With their latest creation though, they have stepped the lust factor up several notches with this, the “Mulholland” - which could well be their greatest work yet.

If the team at Singer are artists, the 911 design is their air-cooled canvas. In the case of this particular canvas, it’s been outfitted with a complete map of the famed Mulholland Drive in Southern California.

A few tiny details did emerge a recently via the Twitter feed of CNET’s Roadshow Steven Ewing, where he confirmed the “Mulholland” map that covers the converted 964s bodywork, and that the rear wing is a fixed effort. Very little else is known about the car, aside from the fact that it‘s been spotted at a few car shows, and that it’s a real one-off customer car that we can never have.

Aside from these details, and after staring longingly at the pictures for many hours, this 911 is brimming with typically gorgeous Singer cool, from the retro rims and the host of additional rally-style front lights. On the inside, it’s a bit of a mystery, as no pictures have been released, but we can make out a colour coded roll cage in what appears to be a stripped out interior of sorts pointing to some racing intention.

There is no confirmation of what powers the “Mulholland” either, but as Singer reworks all of its 911s with multiple flat-six motors, with the top spec version being the 500 horsepower motor from the partnership with Williams Advanced Engineering. If this motor is indeed fitted to this bespoke 911, we can only imagine it would sound ruddy marvellous at 9,000 rpm while carving a California canyon.

Is this the coolest 911 ’reimagining’ from Singer yet? Get in on the comments and let us know.
