Six year old boy races Golf R without a seatbelt

I wish I was making this up, but I am not. This six year old boy has been recorded behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf R driving at very high speeds on a road without a seatbelt.

Never mind the fact he is underage but putting a six year old in a 300hp Golf R is very irresponsible. It is unclear as to whether this is a private road or not, but either way it isn't safe. It is one thing driving at those speeds but without a seatbelt is truly dangerous. Thankfully he just about seemed to keep control of the vehicle.

What makes it even worse, is that the adult in the passenger seat is egging him on as if there is nothing wrong with the situation. As far as I am aware, the law states that he cannot be prosecuted as he is under the age of ten but he should definitely not be behind the wheel of anything other than a go-kart on a track in my opinion.

What do you think of this?

    • Maybe the fact that the parents are letting a kid drive full speed down a road

  • That’s really scary Now, young Ben, I can remember you doing something similar at the same age, admittedly, at a much lower speed and on a beach!

    • Unless this boy was driving at 5kph, then we’re just as bad as each other. However something tells me he was going a little faster than that...

    • Indeed although I didn't have an adult with me. Looks to me like this kid is at the airport and my incident was on private property as well. Oh sorry you meant the other Ben.

  • All the melts crying about this video. It's got very little to do with any of you if the child's father wants to let him drive on private land. It's his dad's business and his dad's problem if anything goes wrong. Fair play to them both I say...the dad for empowering his kid and the kid for piloting that Golf better than half the melons who comment on here.

  • This is my little brother in the video, he was on private land and was doing 50 at most, it's been blown out of proportion and god knows where the 155mph has came from but I bet hes a better driver than most on the roads πŸ˜‚

  • Eh it was good enough for us that grew up in the early 80's, 70's and prior. My first car was built in 68 and did not have seatbelts. I wouldn't be too worried about it. If I were; something so relatively innocent it would not be my place to tell someone else how to raise their children. If it endangered others that would be different, but on a industrial lot or airfield as this appears to be with no other traffic .....have fun πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ–’
