Skoda releases design sketches of new Fabia
The company has unveiled what the next-gen hatch will look like.
The released design sketches showcase a significant design change of the Fabia; the new car is much larger than the outgoing one, with a more buff and dynamic body that looks similar to the VW Polo. This was made possible by basing the new car on VW's MQB-A0 platform which is used by the Polo and the latest-gen Seat Ibiza.
The car will reportedly use VW's latest range of petrol engines, with most of the models using the 3-cylinder TSI unit with 150bhp. As of now, an electric variant of the Fabia is unlikely.
It's expected that the car will have its world premiere in May. The old-gen Fabia Combi will remain on sale alongside the new car until a new-gen estate wagon is going to be revealed in 2023.
