Touchscreen games can be great fun, but there are certain types of game where a proper controller works best. That's where the SMOS CP1 Pro Android game controller steps in.

Launching on crowd funding website Kickstarter, the SMOS is said to be the first Android game controller that can be used without a root app. Instead, all it allegedly needs is a trusty Bluetooth connection, which is much simpler to set up.

All Android games are said to be supported by the SMOS, so that means anything from Real Racing 3 and F1 Mobile 2018 to Assassin's Creed. Feel free to check out our best mobile games of 2018 feature for more inspiration.

SMOS features 18 metal mechanical keys and 32 combo keys, plus two joysticks so you can brush the apex with more precision than usual. You can even connect a bigger screen using the SMOS dock accessory, known as the DP1.

The SMOS Android game controller will be available on Kickstarter from the 8th of January, 2019, starting at US$99. We have been sent the controller so expect a hands-on and more details ASAP.
