So we have seen steele cars, aluminium cars and carbon fibre cars but there’s a new favourited material. This material has been lying around in your loft or child’s bedroom for years, yes it’s Lego.

This Bugatti Chiron replica is made of more than 1,000,000 LEGO technic elements and I truly think it’s a extraordinary piece of engineering. The car is fully drivable (unlike James Mays 1:1 scale airfix spitfire he built which never flew) and does a staggering 18mph(20km/h) and has a horse power of well a mobility scooter. It’s powered by 2,304 LEGO power function motors and took over 13,000 hours to build, this speed demon ways 1,500kg so about 1.6 us tons but who cares what the Americans think.

For the lights it uses the first ever LEGO technic transparent parts.

They used no glue in assembly so you wouldn’t want to crash because your end up in a literal pile of bricks. The LEGO won’t catch on for obvious reasons but it does show an amazing feet of engineering and that anything is possible.

I never thought i would see a sleek and sexy supercar worth millions be made from entirely LEGO technic pieces, but one thing it does sport is the chiron’s wheels and from 30 yards you really cannot tell the difference between LEGO and real thing.
