So I wrote a piece a little while back standing firmly in the corner of Aston Martin as the most exciting car brand in the world currently. This is something I still stick by, especially with today's announcement that the Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake will be going into production and well, just look at it.
Put this alongside the three other Zagato variants, DB11 and an AMR Line including the likes of the Rapide, Vulcan and Vantage and it's quite a lineup. But wait, there's more - the DBX, an all new Vantage, a DB4 GT continuation oh yeah, that Valkyrie isn't bad either.
So Pagani have a current expansive range of three cars the Huayra, Huayra BC & the Huayra Roadster, now I know I can't expect too much from a small Italian car and sure each car is bespoke but is Pagani really exciting? Beautiful, loud, fast - yes. Exciting? not for me.
Sure if you want to pay enough you can get yourself a Zonda, but as a model which has been around for 18 years almost untouched it's got presence, but I want new, cutting edge works of Art.
Now we might be getting somewhere, but once again we are so limited with the cars actually being produced. But it was only a few weeks ago that the Agera RS has managed to go from 0-249mph-0 in 36.44s seconds that's a whole 5 seconds than the Bugatti Chiron, impressive.
There is also the Regera featuring a powerful twin-turbo V8 combustion engine with three electric motors and cutting edge battery power via new powertrain technology called Direct Drive. This revolutionary technology removes the traditional gearbox, making the car lighter, more efficient and definitely exciting.
Lamborghini also seem to have it cracked at the minute, they've hit on a style which sells cars in abundance. The Performante is being hailed as one of the best driving Lamborghini's of all time and the Aventador S simply improves on an already iconic Lamborghini.
It also looks like Lamborghini will be entering the luxury SUV market soon with the Urus, a car we initially saw as a concept way back in 2012, deliveries are expect to begin next year and I am excited to seeing one on the road.
So there are plenty more we could have included here - most of all Ferrari they've came back with the 812 Superfast, GTC4 Lusso, 488 and of course the LaFerrari, on second thoughts maybe I should have included them separately. There is also Mercedes-Benz bringing the hype with the brand new Project-One stiff competition for the Valkyrie.
Bugatti, Buggati, Buggati - the Chiron really is an engineering marvel, but after being pissed on so badly just a few weeks after boasting your 0-400-0 speed, we'll leave you out for now. Finally there is McLaren, despite built quality issues across the board they've still got enough for me to include them somewhat, the 720s is an amazing all round car and with a new hypercar just round the corner, there is a buzz around McLaren as of late.
So have a chat, tell me I'm completely wrong, who i'm missing and who you think deserves to be crowned the most exciting car brand currently.
