So yesterday on the way back from Classics and Cake the Daytona developed a really bad misfire to the point that the engine was cutting out. This in part seemed to be because of the very high ambient temperatures? Today I was able to take the car out for a test run with my mechanic Vince. Initially the car was running perfectly. However when we stopped and let the car idle so that it would heat up enough for the fans to come in, the same thing happened. Vince has diagnosed fuel starvation due to the fuel pumps stopping working however we don’t know why this is happening without a detailed inspection. Hopefully it can be fixed in time for the rally I’m supposed to be taking the car on next Saturday!
