Someone buy this Skyline with a crazy diesel engine
With enough torque to spin the Earth backwards, you can't fault the builder's logic, maybe just their sanity?
When drifting is your hobby but miles per gallon is life, what do you do? You build a diesel-powered drift car, naturally.
Spotted over on the Driftworks forum, this widebody Skyline R32 GTS-t is hiding a rather dirty secret. Long gone is the original RB20DET motor, and in its place sits a gigantic Mercedes OM606 diesel engine with a whopping turbocharger hanging off the side. A diesel Skyline sounds like sacrilege, but it makes sense here – originally found in the Mercedes W124 E300, the 3.0-litre six-cylinder block might seem an odd choice for drifting, but when you think about it, it’s not really – easily tuneable, cheap to source and replace and offering absolutely coal buckets full of torque from low down. Obviously the black smoke is an issue, but it’s not like you’re not making smoke anyway, right?
This particular Skyline does need tuning still, but boasts around 400hp and a massive 800lb/ft torque, according to the seller, thanks to a GT3582 turbo, uprated intercooler, beefy fuel pump and tons of boost. There’s a manual six-speed box under there too, along with all of the necessary drivetrain conversion to completely destroy the rear tyres in seconds.
A lick of paint and you're ready to start rollin' coal
The car features wider R32 GTR metal arches, which have been welded into place, although the fronts have also been attacked by an arch roller too by the looks of it. There’s a full BN Sports bodykit, coilovers and XXR wheels too – a lick of paint and a few mechanical niggles sorted and you’ve one very fast and very unique drift car.

Cool idea but it looks like a perfect money pit.
