Someone here mentioned they wanted to see the cutting board I made. Here's the first one. Maple, with strips of walnut. This one was made from scrap. The others I'm actually having to cut up some larger boards.

  • I've been doing quite a bit of live edge stuff lately, mostly a lot of planing/sanding. I also rescued a 14' long 3' wide 4" thick carving table. It was built by a Native American master carver 100 years ago and will be my main work bench in my 50' x 30' shop (whenever that gets built, hopefully in the next few months)

  • Man, that stuff is like black magic for me. I'd love to learn, but the entry price for planer sand jointers and table saws is too steep.

    • I managed to get a good deal on a planer on CL but everyone else wants a lot of money for their used stuff. Been keeping an eye out for CL jointer. Looking for used since I'm not sure I have the patience for woodworking.

    • I don’t have the space more than anything. Even with a 4 car garage, once three cars are in it, I’d have to move cars out to work on wood stuff, and the dust would be the end of me.
