The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro featured polarizing styling, outraging many fans of the model. In response to the criticism, Chevy created a concept for SEMA with a new color, Shock Yellow, and a redone front end. GM decided that it would use elements from the SEMA concept for the facelifted 2020 Camaro, which is due to go on sale soon.
However, Chevrolet has made a special edition version of the 2019 Camaro, called the Black Edition. There will only be 20 units built of this car, and they will all be sold exclusively in the Russian market. The cars will only be painted black. The cars will have a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four producing 275 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
GM will also make the Shock Special Edition, which will have the 2019 design painted in the Shock Yellow from the concept. It will also be available exclusively in Russia. The Shock Edition will have the same engine and transmission as the Black Edition. The car is for sale for 3,315,000 rubles, which is about $52,000.
