SPOTTED: BMW M4 CSL has been doing laps at the 'Ring
Including a 2-seater version with a roll cage
The long-awaited BMW M4 CSL, scheduled to be unveiled in 2022, has been spotted in the vicinity of the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany and let's start by answering the question everyone will be asking: yes, the massive kidney grille is present and accounted for.
Various car magazines actually reported seeing two different CSLs, one variant was totally covered in camo stickers while the other one revealed the Frozen Portimao Blue underneath. It looks to be marginally lower than the 'standard' M4, with carbo-ceramic brakes and gold calipers, a bigger diffuser and a front-end spoiler.
The interior is one of the most interesting talking points because while the camouflaged appears to be equipped with four seats, the camo+Frozen Portimao Blue has two seats at the front and a roll cage at the rear, which might indicate that there's going to be a CSL and an even more extreme CSL.
Rumour has it the CSL will produce at least 550 hp from its 3.0-litre inline-six and if everything goes to plan, it is going to be unveiled in Q1 2022 as a 2023 model.
