Spotted : Ford Falcon XR

ANOTHER great spot from Triber Davyn Smith!

Some say... That the XR was the best Falcon ever made!

They don't normally come with the enlarged proboscis that this one has, but they were a pretty good looking car, just the same!

Built from 1966 to 1968, they came with a 170ci inline 6, which could be optioned to a larger 200ci version, or a 289ci Windsor V8.

In 1967 there was GT variant (this isn't one of those). Later models lost the nice round tail-lights.

The XR GT is commonly regarded as the very first Aussie Muscle Car!

  • Gorgeous cars. My father had two of the later ones 72 (XW and or XY I think).

    • Yea that bonnet is intense. Don’t know what engine it had but it was a VVV888!!!!!! So load. Could hear it sucking up fuel and spitting out what it didn’t want. Just as a big V8 should...
