Back in 2003, Jeep first introduced the "Freedom Edition" lineup of vehicles: special-edition models of the Grand Cherokee, Liberty, and Wrangler that were available in patriotic exterior paint colors, and included special 'Freedom Edition' badging on the exterior and interior. However, the Freedom Edition lineup was discontinued after 2004, and would reappear on the Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited for the 2014 model year, and it has continuously been on sale ever since. For 2021, Jeep is giving the majority of its lineup (excluding the entry-level Renegade and mid-size Grand Cherokee) the Freedom Edition treatment, with military-inspired exterior styling, and added features. Read on to find out more about each 2021 Jeep Freedom Edition model. NOTE: Any and all pricing discussed in this article includes a mandatory destination fee, but does NOT include any applicable taxes, or other fees.

We'll start with the most exciting of the three new Jeep Freedom Edition models: the 2021 Jeep Gladiator Freedom. Starting at $41,665 and based on the well-equipped Sport S 4X4 trim level, the Gladiator Freedom gets the Gladiator Rubicon's standard seventeen-inch (17") "Satin Carbon"-finished aluminum-alloy wheels, as well as a Freedom-specific Black luxury leather-trimmed interior with cloth inserts in the centers of the seats. There's a black American Flag decal above the 'GLADIATOR' decals on the front fenders, replacing the 'SPORT' decal, and a 'FREEDOM' emblem replaces the 'SPORT' decal on the rear tailgate. In addition, there's also the obligatory black 'Oscar Mike' Star decal on the sides of the pickup box (bed). Exterior paint color options on the Gladiator Freedom include Bright White Clear Coat (Gloss White), Sarge Green Clear Coat (Gloss Green), Nacho Clear Coat (Gloss Yellow-Orange), Firecracker Red Clear Coat (Gloss Bright Red), Snazzberry Pearl Coat Metallic (Metallic Red), Hydro Blue Pearl Coat Metallic (Metallic Bright Blue), Billet Silver Metallic (Metallic Silver), Sting-Gray Clear Coat (Gloss Gray), Granite Crystal Pearl Coat Metallic (Metallic Dark Gray), and Black Clear Coat (Gloss Black). All of the exterior color options cost an additional $245 on top of the Gladiator's base Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), although Bright White Clear Coat (Gloss White) is available at no additional cost. Options and packages are nearly identical to that of the Sport S trim on which it is based.

Next up in the Jeep Freedom Edition lineup is the 2021 Jeep Cherokee Freedom, based on the base Latitude trim. It starts at $27,705 for a 4X2 model, or $29,205 for a 4X4 model. Added to the Latitude trim are eighteen-inch (18") Matte Black-finished aluminum-alloy wheels mounted on P225/60R18 blackwall (BSW) all-season tires, black exterior emblems, a black American Flag emblem above the 'CHEROKEE' emblem on both front doors, and a special front hood decal with the 'Oscar Mike' Star decal. The only option available on the Cherokee Freedom is the MOPAR Interior Package for $265, which includes all-weather front and rear floor liners and an all-weather rear cargo area liner. Available exterior paint color options are Diamond Black Crystal Pearl Coat Metallic (Metallic Black), Sting-Gray Clear Coat (Gloss Gray), Slate Blue Pearl Coat Metallic (Metallic Blue), Olive Green Pearl Coat Metallic (Metallic Light Green), and Bright White Clear Coat (Gloss White). All of these exterior paint color options cost an additional $245 in addition to the Cherokee's base Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), except for Bright White Clear Coat (Gloss White) and Sting-Gray Clear Coat (Gloss Gray), which are both available at no extra charge. A Black Cloth interior is included with all exterior paint color options.

Rounding out the new Jeep Freedom Edition lineup is the 2021 Jeep Compass Freedom, based on the base Sport trim, starting at $27,155 for a 4X4 model (a 4X2 Compass Freedom is NOT available). Added onto the Sport trim are features such as a unique front grille and lower front and rear fascias, seventeen-inch (17") tires and unique Matte Black-finished aluminum-alloy wheels, a black American Flag decal above the 'COMPASS' emblem on both front doors, a black emblems package, and unique interior trim. There are three exterior paint color options available on the Compass Freedom: Sting-Gray Clear Coat (Gloss Gray), Olive Green Pearl Coat Metallic (Metallic Light Green), or Diamond Black Chrysler Pearl Coat Metallic (Metallic Black). All of these exterior paint color options (each costing an additional $245 on top of the Compass's base Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)) include a "Two-Tone" Black Clear Coat (Gloss Black)-finished roof, except for Diamond Black Crystal Pearl Coat Metallic (Metallic Black), which is a monotone exterior paint color option (all exterior paint color options also include a Black Cloth interior). The only available option on the Compass Freedom is the Cold Weather Package, available for $995, and adding features such as a remote vehicle starter system, dual heated front bucket seats, a heated leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, a front windshield wiper de-icer function, a reversible carpeted/vinyl rear cargo area mat, and all-weather front and rear floor mats.
