Steve McQueen`s Jeep is up for sale in the U.K.
You could be the proud owner of a Willy`s Jeep MB once owned by the King of Cool. This 1945 US Army Jeep was an unusual addition to his extensive collection of cars and motorcycles that he bought during his twenty eight years in the Hollywood drivers seat.
The date that he purchased the Jeep varies between 1978-1980 as the Jeep comes with it`s own blue Californian license plates which are dated road worthy until 30th October 1980, a week before he passed away. Four years later it was sold for $6000 as part of the Steve McQueen Estate Auction in the Imperial Palace Hotel, Las Vegas in 1984 by the McQueen family and it stayed in the U.S.
Inside the Jeep there is a plaque that was dated 24-25 November 1984 and the location that the previous auction had taken place. And signed by both of Steve`s Children Chad and Terry McQueen.
The previous owner has sold it to a U.K buyer and since being brought into the U.K the Jeep has had some extensive renovation by Marque Specialists Jeeparts U.K. who has said " The Jeep will be a big attraction and star of the auction."
The Jeep is at the Silverstone Auctions lot no. 626 at the NEC Classic Motor Show Sale which takes place on Saturday 10 th - Sunday 11th November 2018. Tickets are available on the website, along with all the classic car lot numbers and information about bidding.
Viewing of the lots will be available from 10:00 am to 18:30 pm on Friday 9th and from 09:00 am to 14:00 pm on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th of November 2018
