While Subaru's display at the 2020 Singapore Motor Show might have included a concept car, the upcoming hybrid Forester, and a facelifted Impreza, the car that has truly grabbed the headlines is, weirdly, a Forester with a body kit on it.

Why? It's simple – because it's got a naughty word in its name. Seriously. Dubbed the Forester Ultimate Customised Kit Special, the photo above from Top Gear Philippines has started doing the rounds as the capitalised and bolded letters at the beginning of each word in its full title spell out a naughty word. As you can probably tell what that is, I'll avoid reprinting it here.

The big question one must ask is how this name even got approved in the first place, as surely, after putting up signs all around the car with this acronym clearly pointed out, someone didn't just step back from it and go, "Yes, I don't see anything wrong with that at all!"

Perhaps, however, it may have been a deliberate choice as a way to grab news headlines as, clearly, it's worked if that was the case since I'm writing about it right now.

Aside from the questionable name, there's not really a whole lot to say about the Subaru FU– I mean, Forester Ultimate Customised Kit Special. The standard Forester body has been lowered and sits on 20-inch Enkei wheels with highlighter-yellow STI brake calipers behind them, while some slight ground effects, a more aggressive roof spoiler, and some red stripes have also been added on.

Inside, it's largely the same interior as you'd find in a normal Forester but with Alcantara appearing to cover the vast majority of surfaces, along with some red contrasting stitching to help it stand out. Some screens have been added for the rear passengers, along with a subwoofer in an illuminated plexiglass enclosure in the boot, too.

So what do you think – was this a deliberate naming choice to grab headlines from a company with a sense of humour, or a mere coincidence that no one thought to check back and see what this long-winded name spelt out?
