In keeping with the spectacular selection of vintage, classic, modern and racing cars attending the event at former RAF Bicester I took the chance to shoot some film on this beautiful sunny morning.

All photos contained within this article came out of my Canon A1, which was handed down to me after my Grandad passed. During WW2 he was a rear gunner in a Wellington bomber, so it felt only natural to capture this day using his camera.

Coupled to the A1 was my Canon FD 1.4 50mm lens, which produces some stunningly swirly bokeh.

Kodak Ektar 100

To begin the morning I had a few shots left to take on some Ektar 100 film that was still in the camera from the last outing.

Fujifilm 400H

As it approached midday I switched out the used film to some 400H that I had purchased with the weekend in mind.

The next ‘Scramble’ will be the intrepid ‘season opener’ at the start of 2019, which challenges all avid enthusiasts to kick the year off in style with a jaunt to Bicester Heritage in the depths of winter on the 6th January, 2019.

  • Really nice. I'm getting that intermittent rain vibe.

I'm amazed you bought a camera specially for a weekend shoot.
