Superbowl MVP Cars
With the Super bowl right around the Corner lets take a look at some of the Coolest cars gifted to the MVP of the big game.
A tradition dating back to 1967
The Super Bowl is the biggest sports event of the entire year in America, companies pay millions of dollars, and make epic advertisements too get the attention of the millions watching, and the game itself with everything on the line for both teams. But the MVP of the big game gets too come home with a brand new car! Lets look at some of the coolest cars won by super bowl MVP's.
Bart Starr's 1967 Corvette
After completing 16 of 23 passes for 250 yards 2tds and 1 pick in a 35 to 10 route of the Kansas City Chiefs, Starr won MVP of the first ever Superbowl. The car he won was a 67 Corvette in Goodwood Green (too match the color of their jerseys) with a 327ci. small block V8 and a 4-speed manual.
Eli Manning's 2012 Corvette Grandsport
In the 2011-2012 season Eli Manning won his second Super Bowl and second Super Bowl MVP, In a 21 to 17 win against the New England Patriots Eli completed 30 of 40 passes for 296 yards and 1 touchdown and no picks. He took home a brand new 2012 Corvette Grand sport convertible.
Deion Branch's Cadillac XLR
In the 2004-2005 season The Patriots beat the Philadelphia Eagles 24 to 21, Branch was named MVP with 11 catches for 133 yards. He chose a red Cadillac XLR. If you don't remember what the XLR is, it's like the corvette except for it has the Northstar V8 instead of the LS.
Joe Namath's 1969 Dodge Charger R/T
By far the coolest in my opinion was Namath's Charger which he won after winning the super bowl in 1969. The Jets beat the Baltimore Colts 16 to 7 and Namath completed 17 of 28 passes for 206 yards. His prize was a 1969 Dodge Charger with a 440 and a 4 speed.
Roger Staubach's 1972 Charger
In 1972 Roger Staubach was named super bowl MVP after beating the Miami Dolphins 24 to 3, he completed 12 of 19 passes for 119 yards and 2 touchdowns. His prize was a 1972 Dodge Charger, but the funny thing was he didn't want it! He said it wouldn't be able to haul the family around so he'd much rather have a station wagon!!!
