Supercharged 220

A classic Merc with a bit more power.

After some hiatus, I removed dust from my Dremel and had some customizing fun. The choice came down to one of my favourite contemporary Matchbox castings - Mercedes-Benz 220SE Sedan. I went for the grey debut version - Ewy Rosqvist-von Korff`s race car (in 1962, she became the first woman in history to win the Argentine Grand Prix in this very car).

Since the day I saw the casting for the first time, I just knew I had to make a gasser-like custom. It literally begged me to supercharge it, stance it and slap some meaty Hoosiers on the rear wheels. And I finally also came up with the idea for the body decals. None at all! I decided to go for a worn-out look on the sides complemented with a polished top.

Came out pretty nicely (in my book anyway :)). So to sum it up - alteration of base and interior for a proper stance, a hole in the hood for an engine from Chevy Chevelle SS with a supercharger, two exhaust tips near the licence plate, some painted details here and there, shading with a panel liner and a nice pair of Real Rider wheels, the rear with Hoosier decals. Love the final look.
