This is the new Ferrari 812 Superfast, the most powerful series production car ever to come from the Italian legends. It's the latest super-GT from Maranello - the newest in a long line of front-engined V12s, hence the '12' in the name. Officially, the name is an homage to the 4.9 Superfast of the 1950s. The successor to the F12berlinetta carries a 6.5 litre V12, good for 588kw when you rev the engine to its 9,000rpm redline. Maximum torque is 718nm, all of it pushed to the rear wheels. Zero to 100kph comes in just 2.9 seconds; while top speed is 340kph. This is the first Ferrari to introduce the Electric Power Steering (EPS), and it also benefits from the Virtual Short Wheelbase (PCV) 2.0 system, which combines the electric front steering assistance with the mechanical concept based on tyre dimensions and rear-wheel steering, making it more agile. Only 20 units of the 812 Superfast are alleged to be arriving in South Africa in 2018, at a starting price of R7 090 000. #TunedAutomotive #SomeShitAboutCars
