Swapped my M2 for an E92 M3...

Although it’s not a manual, I have a feeling that the M3 is also going to be a very valuable car in the future, as it is the last M3 to have a naturally aspirated engine, a V8 and be available in a coupe form.

I also love the fact that the previous owner managed to put ‘M3’ in the license plate.

Any thoughts or opinions?

  • Why did you do it? Were you disappointed with the M2? Or was it only the feeling, that there is “something more” available? I would prefer the manual M2, even if not in Competition form..

  • I can see your argument OP. M2 will be missed in the really tight bends though... but the M3 shines in most situations. I think the non turbo M cars feel a little more connected, if you know what I mean, through the throttle and the sound in the higher rev range. But they won’t have the same level of torque available all the time. Thoughts?

    • An N.A engine will always have more of a “soul” than a turbo. That overwhelms the whole car, even if the M2 is, like you said, a better “surgeon” through the tight bends.
