Take a listen to the Nissan Z Proto's engine

The manual gearbox is confirmed

The Nissan Z Proto will arrive on September 16th. As its name indicates, it will be a concept announcing the future replacement for the 370Z. After delivering some design elements, the Japanese brand will continue the vehicle teasing campaign by giving more technical details.

The brief teaser indicates the presence of a manual gearbox, which will prove to be a big boost to driving pleasure. It also means that the series production model will also have a manual gearbox, an important feature that will allow the car to stand out from the competition, which has largely switched to automatic transmission.

The other detail concerns the Z Proto's engine, which is expressing itself for the very first time. The particularly raspy sound sets the tone and once again announces the coupe's decidedly sporty character. Small pieces of bodywork are also shown stealthily.

The front bumper will have a generous skirt to improve aerodynamics. On the side, black rims and hollowed-out door bottoms are shown for added dynamism.

    • Oh yeah but still it's not a good idea to put sound effects over engine sound.

  • They really need this car to be incredible. They have to undo Ghosn era garbage. This has to fix their rep. I hope it is more awesomeness from the Old New Nissan.
