TATA NEXON EV CHANGED MY VIEWS ON ELECTRIC CARS

Tata Nexon might change the face of Indian auto industry

No,I haven’t driven the car but by just reading the stats on the car and impressive pricing Tata has done just sold me the car instantly.

And I'll be honest I was always sceptical about electric cars in India and how expensive they would be to maintain and run, especially for lack of charging infrastructure

I’ll spare you the details on the in’s and out’s of the car but if you're interested in details of the car click here drivetribe.com/p/say-hello-to-indias-third-electric-OTcrm-v6Sd-BA0bODVLVgQ?iid=eDcOg9SJS4yl0KZG8D-h0Q

On to the point, That I am trying to make

For 13.7 lacs for the base model and 16 lacs for the top of the line model is considerably cheaper the Hyundai Kona MG’s ZS EV yes they definitely have better range than Nexon but for the first time I read about an electric car and craved to own one

And yes like every other petrol head I get anxiety when I hear about the future is all about electric cars but after hearing what James may said about why we need electric cars for the longer survival for IC Engines, i get the importance of an electric car f

Because traditional car buyers unlike us petrol heads does not crave for stiffer chassis, better suspension and steering wheel filled with feel and feedback

And honestly many car buyers don't buy a car for the sound and the feel of an engine but for the driveability, for example, luxury car buyers get massive v8 and v12s which are ridiculously silent and smooth so when buyers like this use their cars and pollute unnecessarily while they could drive an EV to save the planet and so we petrolheads can enjoy our IC engines as long as we are allowed to

I think it's time for anti EV’s like me to embrace electric cars for our own good and climate change is a concern we can't ignore it for much longer electric is the future whether we like it or not

And i think tata nexon might be the one to revolutionise car industry to this decade just like cars like eco sport and duster did for the previous decade

  • This technology has probably come from the JLR research especially now the Jaguar I-pace is in production.

It would be great to see TATA sell their range of cars in the UK under a different name as a competitor to Hyundai and Kia as Land Rover and Jaguar aren't particularly general affordable family cars anymore and can only be sold as luxury cars.

  • Just booked the car (like yesterday ) after a fabulous test drive . It's sheer driving pleasure ... Much better than mg zs ev and even better than the kona .

The only sore point ( and it's a big one ) TATA should have installed power seat controls instead of manual .
