Taycan, go hide in a corner, the Plaid is here!
Big stats, and the most stupid steering wheel I've seen this side of the 80s!
In recent months, we've seen the Porsche Taycan come to market. This is a car that is objectively better in every way than the Model S. It's certainly the one I would have. The BMW i4 is coming later this year, and once again, the stats are far better than Teslas. The Model Y is under threat from the Ford *Mustang* Mach E, and the Model X stays competitorless - although you could argue cars like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo SE-Hybrid and Lamborghini Urus are the ones cross-shopped with it.
Fearing that the traditional car industry is taking over, Musk has brought out the long awaited Tesla Model S Plaid. The standard Plaid is really nothing special, taking over the role and stats of the old Model S Performance. But the Plaid + ? See for yourself...
- Longest Range of Any Electric Car
- Quickest 0-60 of any Production Car.
- Highest Top Speed of Any Electric Car.
£130,000 is a little steep, but even as a sceptic of Tesla, I was really hoping they wouldn't do this. Porsche, please can we have the Taycan GT3 RS?
However, I have one little criticism. The interior. The new steering wheel is just unusable and a novelty product. The screen also is now flipped like the Model 3, and these updates apply to the Model X, just without the impressive stats.
I'm interested to see what you guys think. I think there must have been a lot of swearing last night at a lot of major companies! Thanks for reading!
