Tesla cuts Model S Price down to $69,420

Just for the LOLS, Elon Musk decided to cut the price of the Tesla Model S. Again.

Elon Musk might have a deeper love for pot and sex than we thought. Or maybe he's genuinely having a great time with pricing his various products. I say this because Musk cut the price of the Model S for the SECOND time this week. He first cut the price to $71,990 earlier this week, then yesterday (October 14th 2020), Elon Musk tweeted that the price will be cut yet again to $69,420.

As I'm sure you know, The Boring Company sold a pair of shorts that were priced at $62.420, which sold out in a matter of hours. Well, Tesla one-upped The Boring Company and priced the Model S one thousand times more expensive.

As comedic as the price sounds, there's actually a good reason for the cuts. Lucid Motors announced the price for their sedan, the Air, had been cut to $69,900. That would explain why Tesla cut their price for the second time this week. And because of that, Elon Musk couldn't help but make the price $69,420.

No matter if you think its childish or awesome that he did that (which it is: how often do you see automotive CEO's having fun with their company???), the Model S just became $5,000 cheaper due to the two price cuts, so either way, the consumers benefit from Elon's playtime.

  • If I were on the company board, I would petition to have him removed.

  • Same thing Henry Ford did with the model T, improved and streamlined production so he could reduce prices. How’d his company work out?

  • A publicity stunt? Absolutely. A great meme for a company known for quality memes? Absolutely. A reasonably priced mid-size executive sedan that is now infinitely more appealing to the market its competiting in? Absolutely.
