Tesla Model 3 Gets Increased Range, Design Changes
Changes include new wheels, increased range, and other minor updates.
1. Tesla's Model 3 is getting some revisions in the form of minor design changes, new interior finishes, increased range, and a few new features.
2. Range is estimated as 263 to 353 miles on a charge.
3. Tesla's website expects the updated Model 3 to go on sale in 5-9 weeks.
The Tesla Model 3 is getting a mid-cycle refresh in the form of raised pricing, exterior and interior design tweaks, and increased range. Starting with design, the Model 3 will now come with black trim for the door handles, window trim, and turn signals. In addition, the Model 3's 18 and 19-inch wheels get a refresh and the Performance model now has 20-inch "Überturbine" wheels.
New trim arrives in the cabin on sill plates, door handles, window buttons and seat controls. The sun visors now set into place magnetically and wireless charging, a power trunk, and a revised center console are all onboard.
Range is estimated to increase to 263 miles for the Standard Range Plus, a 13 mile increase, 353 for the Long Range, a 31 mile gain, and 315 for the Performance, a 16 mile increase.
Standard Range Plus models start at $39,190, and the Performance will cost $56,190. Every color other than white is a $1000 option ($2000 for red) and a white interior is $1000. 19-inch wheels for Standard Range Plus and Long Range models are $1500 extra and Full Self-Driving Capability is $8000. Fully loaded Performance models will dig a $67,190 hole in your pocket.
